The Crocodile Night Adventure leaves from Howler Monkey Resort in Bermudian Landing and is done on our very stable 26 foot jungle catamaran where you float safely, and, high above these living fossils. It is filled with adrenaline and anticipation, as you move out of your human comfort zone and into the realm of the Morelet's Crocodile.
We try to get you to observe and appreciate the crocs in their stealth mode at a close range but still at a safe distance, so as not to disturb their hunt.
This leaves you in awe as it forces you to realize how life in the wild is a very real life or death situation. This also makes you wonder how a river that seems so docile during the day can be so different at night, where a wide variety of wildlife can now be seen living their life trying to catch a meal while trying not to be eaten. And of course... no two nights are the same, sometimes we see sleeping birds, leopard frogs and with about ten newly born babies all hiding together on the edge, waiting for mama. On another night, we get to see many crocs of different sizes some hiding under the overhangs of the river's bank and some in the middle of the river and in the middle of the river.
Everything to do with wildlife sightings is guaranteed only by your luck but, on most nights you will succeed in capturing some crocs with your camera. It's an awesome night adventure!

Fish shoot from the water, leaping over and sometimes right into the boat--once even smacking our guide in the chest--apparently drawn to the bugs attracted by our lights. Each darting fish scares the crap out of us, causing us to nearly capsize. We scream like little girls then laughed until tears sting our eyes. Finally we flick the lights off and coast in the dark beneath the endless starry sky.
Belize delivered more than we asked when searching for our ideal His-and-Her vacations. It gave us stories that we'll tell in tandem for years to come.
